Cave Creek, Arizona has enjoyed a unique and
colorful history since it was settled in the 1870s. Much of that
history is reflected in the theme of its special events and boutiques.
Cave Creek's independent spirit has been
nurtured for more than 100 years as miners, ranchers and others
looking to get away from it all settled in relative seclusion near
Black Mountain. Urban growth throughout the Valley has changed
Cave Creek's outward appearance but, its residents are still
down-to-earth, civic-minded citizens who remain active in the
community.
Maricopa County's school district covers
144-square miles. The District includes Carefree, most of the town
of Cave Creek, portions of the cities of Scottsdale and Phoenix,
and areas under county jurisdiction.
Cave Creek, Arizona is located in northern
Maricopa County and is bounded by Maricopa County to the north,
Phoenix to the west and south, Carefree to the east and Scottsdale
to the southeast. The Town encompasses approximately 31 square
miles.
Cave Creek has a unique and colorful history,

a municipality until 1986. Much of that history is still reflected
in the theme of its special events and unique retail shops that
dot the streets.
