Pacific Palisades, California is known as
a home to movie stars and the affluent, beautiful Pacific Palisades is
located between the cities of Santa Monica and Malibu. Covering 23,431
acres with a population of approximately 25,000, this charming small town
was founded in 1922 as a residential community (Pacific Palisades is a
town of the City of Los Angeles, but residents, through city groups,
exercise much local control and fiercely protect their "village"
atmosphere). It is nestled between the lush, green Santa Monica Mountains
and the sandy beaches of the Pacific Ocean. The "palisades" (high bluffs)
run for three miles along the ocean affording area homes with breathtaking
views of Santa Monica Bay.
Neighborhoods and enclaves contained in Pacific Palisades are the
Palisades Riviera, the Huntington Palisades, the Alphabet Streets, the
Bluffs, Marquez Knoll and the Palisades Highlands.
Area attractions include the Paul Getty
Museum, Will Rogers Park, Temescal Canyon Park, Riviera Country Club, the
Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine and the Pacific Athletic Club.
Pacific Palisades has outstanding public and private schools and is in
close proximity to UCLA, Pepperdine, and Loyola-Marymount.
