| Harwich, Massachusetts is the birthplace of the
commercial cranberry industry, is halfway between the Cape Cod Canal and
Provincetown. Harwich offers fresh and saltwater beaches, fishing,
boating, picturesque harbors, hiking and biking trails, golf, theater,
arts and crafts, antique and unique gift shops. The year-round
population is about 11,500.
Health care facilities are close by with the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis and the many nationally recognized hospitals and specialists in Boston. Prevailing southwest breezes make for warm days and cool nights in the summer and glorious weather during the fall season. Then comes winter, mild as a rule, due to the salt water surroundings, which is followed by Spring freshness. The weather allows for many year round activities - an attraction to many people. Harwich has a recently remodeled public library and in 1999 will complete construction on a multi-million dollar community center for all ages. The Harwich Junior Theatre continues to be Cape Cod's premiere family theatre dedicated to bringing quality live performances to children of all ages. Make Harwich your Homeport; you will enjoy the lifestyle. |
