Tualatin, Oregon, was settled in 1850 and the town was developed as Bridgeport, an important ferry crossing. The community was renamed Tualatin in 1889 when the railroad became a vital economic factor here. Tualatin boasts more than 200 acres of parks and greenways, ball fields, playgrounds, nature trails, tennis and basketball courts, horseshoe pits and a boat ramp along the Tualatin River. The high school, which has it own stadium, theatre, and swimming pool, is one of three in the state to include the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. |
