Fairfield Glade, Tennessee is located in the heart of Cumberland County.
Located just off route 101 Fairfield Glade offers easy access to
Interstate-40. Located near Crossville, Fairfield Glades is just over an
hour away from the commercial airports located in Nashville (BNA - 90
minutes) and Knoxville (TYS - 70 minutes).
Fairfield Glade is a retirement community located in the heart of the Cumberland Plateau with a special emphasis on golf. Other area gold courses include Lake Tansi, Cumberland County State Part, and Fairfield's four courses. You can fish and boat near Cumberland Gardens high course while enjoying spectacular views of the mountains and lakes. River Run and Deer Creek are an easy drive. Cumberland Mountain State Park is well worth a visit even if you don't swim or golf. Children enjoy the paddle boats and playground. The dining room offers a beautiful view. Very memorable in the fall. This park is near the Homesteads area. You'll recognize the distinctive Crab Orchard Stone used everywhere in buildings. For the kids, there's a putt-putt at Pirate's Plateau on Peavine Road. They also have go-carts, bumper boats, and an arcade. There's a whole new and very skinny state park for hiking. One completed section crosses Grassy Cove, into Black Mountain. People who live in Crab Orchard near Black Mountain are sometimes a little bewildered by outsiders referring to Black Mountain as a general area. They have a different name for each peak. An easy and short hike is at Ozone. For shopping, try the outlet mall just south of the I-40 Genesis Road exit. Don't miss seeing at least one play at the playhouse in Crossville. Call the Cumberland County (Crossville) playhouse (931-484-5000) and make reservations for what you want to see. Fairfield Glade is a great place to visit and an even better place to live. |
