| Port Angeles, Washington is protected on the south by
the Olympic Mountains and bordered on the north by the Straits of Juan de
Fuca, Port Angeles boasts a deep-water harbor, driftwood beaches, forested
hillsides and rugged mountains. From Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic
National Park you can view the city below and Canada's Vancouver Island,
just 17 miles across the Straits.
Port Angeles combines the best of small town living with many of the
benefits of the city--it's small enough to feel like home yet large enough
to offer an active cultural, recreational, and professional environment.
Mild coastal weather prevails. Port Angeles is warmed by the
Japanese Current and sheltered by the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains
limiting rainfall to about 24 inches annually. Temperatures range from the
70's in the summer to the mid-30's on the coldest winter days. Annual
average humidity is a comfortable 77-86 percent.
